Some me advice for the families:

¡We should share free time with our family even on rainy days!

The importance of meeting children’s emotional needs

We must be affectionate and caring with our children so that they feel we care for them and this will improve their emotional state. At the same time we can’t forget children meed rules and limits that parents must set at home so that there will be order and the possibility for each remember of the family to participate in any activity.

Weekly planning: Structure and emotional stability

Parents should plan the basic organisation of the family life before telling the children. It should also be reviewed weekly. You can also discuss some things with them when organising the planning.

There should be a detalied and structured timetable during the week (time to get up, to have a shower, to get dressed, do the housework, homework, meals…) and set the places for the different activities.

We can help children with their homework just to encourage them to start. Then we can supervise they have finished it at the end. It is essential to encourage nthem to read in both languages. If you or them have questions, you can contact the teachers or the children can ask or work with them in the Support time at the end of each day (4:00-5:00pm Primary, 4:30-5:00pm Secondary).

This timetable should be displayed in a visible spot and should be different at the weekend with more free time activities and you can share long walks in parks, trips to the countryside or to the mountains around Madrid, do sport together riding a bycicle, visit family or Friends, playing boardgames, puzles or Reading together.

Dressing properly: Maintaining the school routine

The children should wear appropiate clothes for the different activities and it is essential to remind them the impirtance of wearing the correct schooluniform from Monday to Friday.

If they want to play video games, you should tell them about the risks and dangerous situations they might find. It is also essential to set a limited time to play. Easier when we play together.
