Why learn Judo?

Judo is a great form of physical exercise, it teaches self- control and develops problem solving skills. The first thing children learn from martial arts is respect and self- control. This sport helps with developing muscles and strengthening joints. It is a great entry point into martial arts. Judo, a martial art which became an Olympic sport in 1964. UNESCO supports Judo as one of the best sports for personal growth.

In our Judo club, children learn the rules of the sport and work through different techniques developing excellent coordination, balance and flexibility. Our Judo teacher is titled and approved with up to date education courses.

Judo teaches children to:

  • Face physical contact
  • Know their own body
  • Improve self-esteem
  • Reduce anxiety while you practise
  • Increase concentration
  • Overcome frustration

 

This activity is appropriate for Reception +. There are two separate groups Reception – Year 2 and Year 3 +.
